My landlady
Upon arrival, my only friend in Cape Town was the lovely lady, Alice, who rented my little flat. I stay in the rooms at the back of the house, and she lives in the front. Alice graciously made me a cup of tea, and offered to drive me around the area to get me aquainted with my surroundings.
It has been great to have Alice as a flatmate, and she is such an accomplished woman, and frequently has guests over. I have been priviledged to crash some of her coffee parties, and meet some of her amazing friends with their interesting careers and life stories.
Alice is a well known South African landscape artist, and thus I can include a couple of her prints which I have found online. Her studio is right in the the house, and so I have been able to see many peices for her next collection, and have seen some of her inspiration in the view that her house has of the glorious Table Mountain. She is taking a 6 month trip in February to do more painting for her next exhibition, so hopefully I will be able to see her as much as possible in the next few weeks. Enjoy!
