List of things to do in Cape Town
In preparing for my travels, I have come to realize all the amazing people that I have around me, and I am so grateful for their support, insight, and kind words as I prepare to embark on this next chapter of my life.
Those at work, both at Health and Wellness and Grant MacEwan have provided me with an abundance of gifts and kind words. "Wishing you the courage to dream, to imagine, to transcend the things of this world" was the message in a thoughtful card I received today, and messages like this motivate me to see the world and learn through these upcoming experiences.
I have started to make a list of those things I must do in Cape Town and this includes: Visit Robben Island (where Nelson Mandela was a political prisoner for many years), run up and around Table Mountain, climb Lion's Head, hang out on Clifton Beach, go to Llandudno Beach, check out the penguins in Simonstown, visit Cape Point, go to Kirstenbosch Garden, order calamari on the verandah at Chapman's Peak Hotel, go to the Greenpoint African Market on a Sunday morning, visit some the wine estates near Stellenbosch, listen to as much live jazz music as possible, and go to the pubs on the rocks at Kalk Bay. I'd love to hear if anyone else has additional suggestions, and will keep updating my list as I learn of other great adventures.
All the best,
Anna*

I just found this blog. At any rate, The Waterfront, while touristy, is very nice. Some good restaurants and bars there as well. And the aquarium they have there is pretty good too. If you're still there at the end of February, the Super 12 is starting up, so seeing a Rugby match would be pretty cool (should be cricket season now as well if you're into that sort of thing). Additionally, if you're going a bit further afield (while still staying in Western Province), Oudshoorn has ostriches. We stayed at this really nice guesthouse there. And most of the Garden Route towns are really picturesque. Apart from that, you seem to have a lot of cool stuff on your plate (Table Mountain is amazing. Watching the clouds roll down the mountain from up close is really cool, and the penguins are good times). At any rate, have a great time while you're there and I'll be sure to let you know if I think of anything else.
