Happy and hot in Cape Town
I arrived in Cape Town after the long trip...2 ferries to Vancouver, a 9.5hour flight to London, 3 hour lay over, 3 hours of sitting on the tarmack in London waiting to be de-iced and then an 11hour flight.
But I arrived...and it's lovely.
The sun is shining and summer is now in full bloom. When I left in June the winter rains were coming down and now the blossoms are out along with the sunshine. It's been fantastic to see Graham, and we've now settled in to a flat in Observatory, conveniently a kilometre from Medical campus and my lectures and just under 5km away from the Sports Science Insitute. We spent some time at the beach, did a hike up Orangekloof on the back of Table Mountain and have just returned from a week holiday in Langebaan up the west coast. Here there is a huge ocean lagoon, where we took some kiteboarding lessons and did some kayaking, running, swimming and holidaying. Tomorrow we leave along with Graham's siblings (tim and lucy) and Tim's (just pregangt!) wife Elijan for the Orange River. We will spend 4 days traversing down through SA, before returning to Cape Town just in time for my school to start on the 23rd.
Happy new year to everyone, I hope to hear from you soon.
Smiles and sunshine,
Anna*
