Alive and back in SA
So Avaleigh and I survived, more than survived really, had a great time.
In our 20 day tour we visited 6 countries; South Africa, Namibia, Angola, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Botswana.
After Swakupmond we visited a cheetah farm where there were 3 "tame" cheetahs, went to Etosha where we did some game drives and saw elephants, rhinos, lions, giraffes, and zebras, onto Rundu on the border of Angola and took a little boat over for a photo opportunity on the Angola side, visited a local church where they performed songs for us for two hours, entered Botswana and went to the Okavango Delta where we went in mokoros...which are boats that used to be made from hollowed trees but now are done with aluminum, and are guided by a poler (similar to boats in Venice) and they led us through the delta...very Lady of Shallot like...all through the reeds veiwing the local game...onto Chobe National Park (in Botswana still) where on the sunset river cruise we saw a crocodile, hippo and elephants in all the same shot...we also watched a heard of 30+ elephants...then we continued through to Vic Falls in Zimbabwe, spent an evening on a river cruise in Zambia, and then went White Water Rafting (just awesome !!) and visited Vic Falls where we took uber cheezy photos of Avaliegh and I with the falls and rainbow in the background. Yesterday we drove 20 hours (yup, 5am to 1pm) to get to Jo'burg and now we're at a huge mall with our nice little rental car before we head to Harrismith, then the Drakensberg for some hiking, and likely Durban. Only more good times to come.
Avaleigh and I also got shirts made that say "Anna and Avaleigh's African Adventure" and so now we have super cool travel uniforms...
It's been great, wish we could share photos but that will have to wait. Sorry for the run on sentences, it's been just incredible.
Love to you all
